The inaugural event went off without a hitch
There were plenty of good eats available throughout the day.
The first day of autumn brought the inaugural Southern Westchester Food and Wine Festival — and the new event drew in plenty of local talent, celebrity chefs, and hungry crowds. Celebrity chef David Burke noted that he was "blown away by how organized the first year was... everything from the layout to the flow of guests. It's unbelievable that this is the first year. Everyone is in a good mood and friendly." Scarsdale, N.Y., played host to the event, which proved to start off on a smooth (and delicious) note.
In a tented food lover's heaven, more than 50 restaurants, caterers, and bakeries passed out gourmet food samples and award-winning wineries kept the liquor flowing. Vendors offered goodies to take home and live music kept spirits high. There were celebrity chef demonstrations at a center stage, some of which included Nisa Lee, Rafael Palomino, David Burke, Stew Leonard and the Epicurious.com recipe winners, and Master Chef Ken Arnone. Book signings also took place throughout the day by Dana Jacobi, Missy Chase Lapine (The Sneaky Chef), and editor-in-chief of Epicurious.com Tanya Steel to name a few. The jam-packed schedule has guests leaping from booth to stage and enjoying every delicious bite.
With entertainment, food, and drinks in abundance, the festival leaves us with just one question: Do we really have to wait a whole year until the next one?
